Virginia Beach SPCA Pet Personality Photo Contest: How Voting Works & How to Win

What is the pet personality contest and who runs it?

The Virginia Beach SPCA Pet Personality Photo Contest asks pet owners to enter a photo that shows their animal's personality, and it asks the public to vote on the entries. The shelter runs the contest, and the voting happens on GoGo Photo Contest under the page address for the VBSPCA pet personality program.

The contest page describes the entry as a way to show off a pet's personality, from silly to serious. It positions the vote as a fundraiser for the Virginia Beach shelter. Readers who want the wider state picture can start with the Virginia contest hub.

What the shelter is

The organizer is the Virginia Beach SPCA, a shelter whose name sits on the contest page. A reader can match that name against the shelter's own communications before voting, since the shelter's rules govern the contest.

What dated facts does the contest show?

Two editions are dated for this contest, 2024 and 2025. The page states the end of online voting for the 2025 round as 9:00 PM Eastern Time on Sunday, August 31, 2025, and it says the photo with the most votes at that time will be declared the winner. That closing moment is the one fixed date the page gives.

Without an opening day, a reader cannot measure the length of the round. The listing names only the close.

What the page leaves out

Entries on the contest page are not sorted into categories, and no ceiling on votes per supporter appears in the text. Entrants who want to know how their photo is grouped should read the entry rules before submitting.

How does a supporter vote on a pet photo today?

A supporter opens the GoGo listing, browses the entered photos, and casts a vote on the picture they prefer. The tally counts those votes, and the photo with the most votes when voting closes is named the winner.

The path below follows the flow a supporter meets on the GoGo page. The platform sets the form and any confirmation screen, so the exact steps can differ from one round to the next.

Form and confirmation

GoGo sets the vote form and any sign-in or confirmation step. The shelter's rules on repeat voting are not printed in the text available here, so read the prompt before you submit.

How does this contest sit beside other Virginia pet contests?

Six Virginia pet listings sit beside this contest on this site. They include a 2025 calendar pet photo contest, an Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue calendar entry, an AWLA calendar contest run for the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, a Carroll News cutest pet contest, a 2025 cutest pet listing and a 2026 cutest pet photo contest. This contest is the one of these named for personality.

Readers comparing neighbours can look at the Cutest Pet Photo Contest 2026 listing or the AWLA calendar contest, then return here for the Virginia Beach field.

How can a pet owner help a photo gather support?

An owner who wants a pet photo to do well should start with the official GoGo link. Sharing that exact address with friends, family and shelter supporters keeps the effort tied to the contest the shelter runs. The shelter's posted rules decide what outside promotion is allowed, and those rules are not printed on the contest page.

Support is strongest when it stays within those rules. An owner who reads the terms before asking people to vote avoids the risk of votes the organizer later removes. The online voting notes describe general approaches to public votes without promising a result.

No effort can settle the winner in advance, because the photo with the most votes at the close takes the prize. A late surge of votes counts the same as early ones, so the standings a reader sees before the close are only a single reading of the tally.
