Paws of Yakima Calendar Contest: How Voting Works & How to Win

What is the Paws of Yakima Calendar Contest and who runs it?

The Paws of Yakima Calendar Contest is a pet photo calendar contest that the Yakima Humane Society presents in Yakima, Washington. The society's page describes it as a calendar entry and voting event, with entries and votes handled through a GoGo Photo Contest address rather than a separate newspaper ballot.

The society and its calendar

The page is presented by the Yakima Humane Society, and its menu lists Enter Contest, View Entries/Vote, Prizes & Recognition, Rules and About Us. The 2027 title on the page names the calendar the current round feeds, while the confirmed editions in the sources are 2025 and 2026.

What dates has the 2026 round published?

The 2026 round prints one firm deadline: pet entries and votes close at 8:00 PM Pacific Time on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. That makes the end of September 2026 the anchor date for the current cycle, and the 2025 run sits as the earlier confirmed edition.

The sources do not give the day the 2026 window opened, so the start date stays open; confirm on the live ballot each cycle. The voting end falls on a Wednesday, which the page states in full, so a supporter can plan the final day around that fixed point.

How does a supporter vote on an entry today?

A supporter opens a pet's entry page on the society's GoGo Photo Contest address and casts a public vote on that page. The contest pages invite people to view and vote on entries, so voting is the main action the organizer describes for supporters.

Steps on the entry pages

The sources print no daily vote allowance for the Yakima contest, so per-person limits have to be checked on the rules page. The entries and votes sit on the society's GoGo Photo Contest address, so the same link serves both viewing and voting. How does the Yakima calendar sit beside other Washington ballots?

Washington has several Best of and readers' choice programs on this site, and most are run by a newspaper or a regional awards organizer. The Yakima calendar is different because it is a humane society pet calendar, and its voting runs on a GoGo Photo Contest address rather than a newspaper page.

Other Washington ballots show the range. The Cascade's Best and the Best of Snohomish County ballot are separate programs, each with its own name and sponsor. Each one should be compared on its own organizer, platform and month of voting.

How can a supporter help a Yakima pet get more votes?

The society's invitation is to vote on entries, and the only mechanic the sources describe is the public vote on each entry page. Supporters who want wider reach can share the entry with friends and neighbors and read the broader outreach advice in the general guide on this site.

Paid vote services exist for many online ballots, and the buy votes online page explains that market in general terms. A paid option cannot promise any particular result on a public vote, and the contest rules decide what counts toward a pet's total. Any outside help should be checked against those rules first.

The public vote on each entry is the only route the sources describe for supporters, so any plan should start from that page and the organizer's stated rules rather than from an outside method.
